About the Class: 

In this intensive workshop, you’ll push the boundaries of metal clay architecture to create this striking, sculptural pendant. Working with the high-performance Project X Bronze clay, you will master the art of manipulating, folding, and shaping metal clay without causing structural stress or cracking. We’ll dive deep into advanced texturing techniques using the innovative Project X Hot Rollers to stamp deep, dramatic, organic ridges into the surface. From there, you’ll learn the precision mechanics of bezel construction, utilizing perfectly sized oval cutters to construct a secure home for a stunning 8x10mm firable cubic zirconia. Finally, you’ll construct a seamless integrated bail, assemble your components into a cohesive masterpiece, and cover firing and polishing techniques to give your raw bronze a professional, high-contrast finish.

• Finishing Dynamics: Execute firing profiles and post-fire polishing techniques to make your bronze details pop (time permitting).

Kit Materials: 25g Project X Bronze, 8x10mm stone, Bezel set

In Person: Students will receive their kits in the classroom. You do not need to bring any materials or supplies. 

Online: Your kit will be mailed upon registration. REQUIRED TOOLS: Basic metal clay toolkit. Clay scraper. Texture roller of choice. Depth gauges. Kiln and firing equipment.
