Inspired by a treasure discovered along the shoreline, Gem of the Sea is a beautifully detailed pendant designed to capture the magic of a found sea treasure. Created with light bronze base metal clay, this piece has a rich, warm golden tone—giving you the look of gold without the hefty price tag.
You’ll create your own little treasure with a dimensional pocket designed to cradle a sparkling CZ. Learn how to precisely set a fireable CZ directly into the metal clay so it becomes a permanent part of your finished piece.
Don’t let the intricate details fool you—this project is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced metal clay artists. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the construction and setting techniques, making this a fun project whether you’re just getting started or looking to add another technique to your metal clay toolbox.
Base metal clay requires an extended firing process. Because of this, your finished pendant will be available for pickup the following day or can be mailed to you at no additional cost.
Material Kit Includes: Light bronze base metal clay, fireable CZ, use of shared tools, consumables, and printed instructions. All tools will be provided for students to use during class. Kit fee $35
Please note: The material fee is based on current metal and material costs as of August 2026 and is subject to change based on fluctuations in metal prices and supply costs.
