Dazzling Drop Earrings REGISTER
Learn how to give your metal clay work a more refined look by fusing Argentium wire loops. In this fun class, Carrie will teach you how to make layered metal clay components and then fuse jump rings to the finished pieces to link your desired flourishes. Students will learn to roll, texture and connect fine silver clay. Pieces will be kiln fired and tumbled. Then Carrie will demonstrate how to create jump rings with Argentium wire and fuse them directly to the fine silver clay. Students will leave with a finished pair of fine silver earrings.
Multi Stone Setting in Silver Clay REGISTER
Working with high firing cubic zirconia stones and with fine silver clay students will explore various settings to create a custom pair of earrings. Carrie will demonstrate three types of stone settings used to create beautiful combinations of color. Each setting is built to ensure the stones do not come out during firing. Carrie will demonstrate a bead set stone technique, a clay bezel set technique and a lump clay technique. Students will create a pair of fine silver earrings with the selection of embedded stones the desire.
Bezel Setting on Silver Clay REGISTER
Learn how to start incorporating traditional metal smith techniques into your metal clay work. By soldering bezels to your metal clay, you can set cabochons easily without the worry of bezel shrinkage. In this class, you will make a fine silver metal clay pendant. After firing, you will learn to make a bezel from fine silver bezel wire and solder onto your finished pendant, then set the stone. Carrie will provide detailed instructions from designing and metal characteristics, to soldering and polishing. You will have access to try a variety of tools and equipment to help you decide what would be best for your future projects. Students will finish a fine silver pendant and leave with the expertise and knowledge required to solder metal clay jewelry on their own.
Beginner Base Metal Clays REGISTER
Learn the basics of Five Star Copper and Bronze Clays in the fun beginner’s class. Copper and bronze metal clays, also referred to as base metals, are slightly different than working with silver metal clays. They require special handling and a bit more knowledge about firing. Gaining a good understanding of these metal clays before jumping into them alone is a great idea. Carrie Story is an expert on base metals. Carrie is the developer and manufacturer of Five Star base metals. In this class, Carrie will share with you the knowledge she has learned over the years to help you be more successful when working with these metals. Students will create two simple projects. One pair of copper earrings and one bronze pendant with a firable stone. Students will learn to texture and mold the clays, reconstitute, embed stones and finding, refine and fire base metals successfully. Earrings will be fired in class and should be complete by the end of the day. The pendants will be fired overnight and available for pick up the next morning.
Soldered and Fused Pendant REGISTER
In this fun class, students will learn how to make fine silver decorative elements with PMC3 and then fuse and solder them to Argentium wire. Students will first make a fine silver metal clay element with PMC3. Then, Argentium wire will be formed and fused to create the earring bases and earring wires. Once formed, the silver clay elements will be fused to the top of the wire. And finally, students will solder a .925 silver bezel tube to the pieces to complete their own unique designs.
Soldered & Fused Silver Clay Earrings REGISTER
In this fun class, students will learn how to make fine silver decorative elements with PMC3 and fuse them to Argentium wire. Students will first make three elements with PMC3 and torch fire the elements. Then, Argentium wire will be formed and fused to create the earring bases and earring wires. Once formed, the silver clay elements will be fused to the top of the wire to complete unique designs. Up to two pairs of earrings and will be made in class. Students may bring decorative beads if desired. Beginner students will create the solid types of designs. More experience clay designers may create open designs to incorporate beads or other elements.
Delicate Silver Flower Earrings REGISTER
Trying to go beyond the stamps and texture sheets with your metal clay? Want something more unique? This is the class for you. Learn how to SCULPT with simple tools right in the palm of your hand. You will learn to create ultra-delicate and detailed pieces of silver metal clay, construct, fire and patina to enhance the design. Carrie will provide detailed instructions and demonstrations while you make two intricate silver earrings. You will have access to try a variety of tools and equipment to help you decide what would be best for your future projects.

Studs are back! These adorable little fine silver earrings are a breeze to make and affordable too! Learn how to quickly create stud earrings the right way. Carrie will teach you how to mold beautiful silver designs with depth and dimension to ensure sparkle on your ears. Students will make two fine silver components, torch fire and then learn to solder .925 silver posts. Carrie will discuss weight, strength and soldering techniques to ensure success the first time around. Carrie will also discuss alternative designs and techniques. Students will complete one pair of fine silver stud earrings.
