Metal Clay Beads: The 5g Challenge + Fine Silver Bangle 
Take on the 5g Challenge and learn how much you can create with just 5 grams of metal clay. 
In this fast-paced, technique filled workshop, students will make multiple metal clay beads in a variety of styles exploring form, texture, and efficient use of material — then learn how to fuse a fine silver bangle to showcase their finished beads. 
Students will leave with a completed fine silver bangle and a collection of beads designed to slide onto it. Students are encouraged to bring beads that fit 10 gauge wire to incorporate into the final design if desired. 

In this class, students will learn: 
∙Several approaches to making beads: shaped, textured, hollow, and/or sculptural styles 
∙Drying, refining, and firing tips for strong, well-finished beads 
∙How to fuse a fine silver bangle and shape it for comfortable wear 
∙How to assemble and style bead arrangements on the bangle for a finished look 

Kit Fee: $100 — Basic metal clay tool kits and textures will be available for use.
Kit includes: 
∙5-gram packet of Project X fine silver metal clay 
∙11” 10-gauge fine silver wire 
∙3” 18-gauge sterling silver wire 

By the end of class, students will have a wearable fine silver bangle featuring their handmade metal clay beads (plus any compatible beads they bring), along with the skills to keep making beads long after the 5 grams are gone.
