Golden Threshold
Step into a new era of metal—and a new chapter in your work.
In Golden Threshold, we’ll explore the power and possibility of Project X Light Bronze clay, creating a bold, large-scale pendant that embraces warmth, weight, and intention. As precious metal prices continue to rise, this workshop invites you to cross the threshold into base metals without sacrificing presence, beauty, or impact.
Using 50 grams of Project X Light Bronze clay and a 5mm high-fire CZ, you’ll learn how to design and construct a statement pendant that feels grounded, intentional, and enduring. We’ll cover everything from building dimensional forms and carving decisive textures to securely setting a stone designed to withstand high-fire conditions. This is about trusting the process, trusting the material, and allowing bronze to take its rightful place as a powerful design choice—not a compromise.
You’ll leave with a finished pendant that carries both physical weight and symbolic meaning—a marker of transition, growth, and creative confidence.
What You’ll Learn:
-
Working Large with Metal Clay: Techniques for handling, supporting, and drying larger-scale bronze pieces without cracking or distortion.
-
Surface Design: Create bold pieces and add intentional details that enhance form and movement.
-
High-Fire Stone Setting: Learn best practices for securely setting a 5mm high-fire CZ in bronze clay.
-
Firing & Finishing Bronze: Understand firing considerations specific to Light Bronze and refine your piece for a strong, wearable finish.
This class is ideal for artists ready to expand beyond silver, embrace base metals with confidence, and create statement work that feels current, intentional, and unapologetically bold. Beginners are welcome, some familiarity with metal clay will be helpful.
