Instructors

Carrie Story, the creative force behind Clay Revolution, is a pioneering metal clay artist and inventor known for her innovative Project X clays. Since beginning her journey in 2008, she has become a respected figure in the international metal clay community, teaching artists worldwide with her vibrant and engaging style. Her jewelry creations, inspired by the alternative lifestyle of the 90s, reflect an effortlessly cool, organic vibe. As a Principal Instructor for Camp Metal Clay, Carrie continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of metal clay artists.

Michael Marx, a lifelong artist and sculptor, has a passion for transforming visions into 3-D art. Originally from Massachusetts, he moved to California in 1987 and later settled in South Carolina. Initially working with FIMO, a polymer clay, Michael discovered metal clay in 2000 and found it to be the perfect medium for his intricate designs and detailed textures. His work pushes the boundaries of metal clay, demonstrating that it is truly fine art, not just craft. https://www.facebook.com/UnsaneArt

Melissa Kay-Steves, a lifelong jewelry enthusiast, discovered her passion for metal clay in 2006 after years of honing her skills in wire wrapping and jewelry repair. With a background in journalism and marketing, she found her true calling in teaching metal clay techniques in 2009. In 2019, she opened Charmtree Jewelry Studio in Stevensville, Maryland, where she teaches metalsmith classes to both adults and teens. Her studio also hosts visiting instructors and special events, reflecting her dedication to sharing the art of jewelry making with others. www.charmtreejewelry.com Https://instagram.com/charmtreejewelrystudio/ https://www.facebook.com/melissa.kaysteves/
