Metal clay beach retreat

Spend a few days enjoying the beach with Carrie Story and Michael Marx! Carrie and Michael have collaborated on this incredible new project full of metal clay lessons and relaxation.
Michael will spend two days providing students with detailed instructions to create his stunning kinetic fish pendant with a glass cabochon eye. Each pendant will have movable parts and glass features.
Carrie will teach the next two days creating a one-of-a-kind chain. The chain will incorporate several types of metal clay components, as well as heavy gauge wire links. Carrie will teach you how to make floating beads, textured links and sculpted components with metal clay. Then, you will switch mediums and create wire links using several different techniques, including hammering, filing, forming and soldering.

In person students will spend five nights with Carrie and Michael in a private home on the beautiful South Carolina coast!

The in-person option includes breakfast and lunch, and also has TWO EXCLUSIVE CLASSES! After check-in, Michael will teach you how to make Little Fish Links for your chains. And the last morning, Carrie will teach you how to gold plate your finished pieces with a 24k pen plater!

Online students will have the option of registering for either two-day class or both classes! The classes will be live, online from the beach house. Students will have access to BOTH instructors during the class so that the online students will have the best resources possible. The classes will be recorded and available online for 30 days after the class.
